A Fun Tennis Match

A couple of years ago I got back in touch with my old High School Friend Ryan Pang!  He is a Semi Pro Tennis Player and has asked me to photograph many of his matches, the Mercer Island Highschool tennis team and the Washington Open at the Seattle Tennis Club (STC).  I've had a great time learning the game and capturing the moments, it's not an easy game to photograph!  Not only have I had to learn the game, but to get the perfect shot, I've had to learn the sounds, movements and expressions of the players. So was very honored and excited a few weeks ago when Ryan asked if I would come by and shoot a causal game he was playing with his good friends Chotika and James Valentine of Maroon 5!  Yes, James Valentine, the most talented guitar player!  He is also a talented tennis player. I think jamming on that guitar has given him great skills in handling a racquet, they are a similar shape!  It was a magnificent day.  Now, you must understand, Maroon 5 is one of my MOST favorite bands, in fact I was listening to them way before they were popular and even attended a concert of theirs in Everett years ago.  I remember loving that they jammed much longer in concert than what you hear on the radio, and their skills were so incredible I didn't want the concert to end.  James not only has skills musically and athletically but he is also just a chill, fun, smiley nice guy who surprised me with 2 pit tickets to the concert at the Key Arena the very next night.  I wish I could have brought my camera to the show, I captured a few images with my phone, but this time I just danced and sang (I now all the words to every song) the night away and filled my senses with Maroon 5's music!  Thank you to Ryan Pang and James Valentine for allowing me to capture your skills. And another HUGE thank you to James Valentine for inviting me to your show!

Enjoy!
